A downloadable game for Windows

INTRODUCTION

The desire to embark on this journey came about almost 2 years ago as I enjoyed my first Digimon Vpet, the Digital Monster X version XD. I longed to combine the gameplay and feel of the Vpet with looks, mechanics and music from the Digimon games I grew up playing with on the PSX and Nintendo DS consoles. Back then I was learning how to program on Java, and so I decided to put into practice my newfound skills by designing a virtual pet.  I hope it can bring some enjoyment to whoever plays it, despite its flaws and misgivings. I love Digimon with passion, and I enjoyed every step of the journey, even the frustrating moments.  As for any remaining glitches or bugs that I haven’t found yet, I do apologize for any inconvenience they may cause, and I'll do my best to address and fix them if any should appear.

The game is available for Windows for free. For anyone kind enough to consider making a small donation, feel free to do so only after you've played the game and ascertained whether it was a worthwhile experience.

GAME OBJECTIVE

The purpose of this game is to raise a digimon partner of your very own. When you start a new save, you can choose between a few Digi-Eggs. Once you name your partner, you’ll be sent to the Digital World! Here you can interact with your partner, helping it become stronger and digivolve. Eventually though, your partner’s lifespan will run out. When it does, it’ll be reborn again, and you’ll be able to select a new Digi-Egg for it to hatch from, and a new name if you so desire.

In order to complete your collection of diferent digimon species, it’s important to explore the Digital World. You can unlock new Digi-Eggs to reincarnate into, among many other things. Also keep in mind time works differently in the Digital World. Every second in the Real World corresponds to a Minute in the Digital World. Therefore, minutes equal to Hours, and 24 minutes represent a full Day.

Really cool game so far! Reminds me a lot of DMPC aesthetically, and is fun to have open at the side while I do other stuff on my laptop. Plays well and I haven't run into any bugs yet, only suggestions I have are maybe a fridge freeze feature to pause without closing the app and some ways to get resources without battle because relying on drops has caused some unavoidable care mistakes. Other than that really enjoying my time with it!

I'm glad you're enjoying it! And nice choice of Vpet shell color ^^

As for the fridge freeze feature to pause the game without closing the app, would the Pause menu suffice? While it does show the Configuration, Save and Exiting options, it allows you to stop time from progressing. Another way of keeping the game on without time progressing is actually while in the Library menu, since I wanted people to be able to browse the digimon they've unlocked and their digivolution requirements without having to worry about wasting in-game time.

In regards to the item drops, they can be an issue early game, that is true. I wanted for the initial stages of the game to give a feeling of scarcity, and maybe prevent ideal digivolution paths. However, if it's food, the game does guarantee 100% drop rate for almost every food item if your inventory has less than 6 of it. And for Bandages and Medicine, they do require you to know which Areas have digimon that can drop them, to grind them if you are low on healing items (or to keep a mental note if you do notice such an Area). Was there a specific type of resource you noticed you had the most issues with?

Thank you for your feedback and suggestions! I'll keep them in mind, and I'd like to know if the Pause menu/Library options would satisfy your first suggestion, and if you keep having resource issues while raising your MoriShellmon. I hope it can grow to your liking!

Pause button does exactly what I needed it to, thanks for the info!

As for the item scarcity thing, I mainly struggle with the syringes I can't seem to find anywhere they drop but knowing that it's an intended difficulty for your first run to overcome makes it cool imo. Thank you for the response and advice!

I'm glad I could help! If you have any other feedback, or if you'd like to know for good Areas in which to get medical supply items to heal injuries, please let me know ^^ Hope you continue to enjoy the game.

Now that I'm rereading your resources comment about syringes, just wanted to make sure you're not referring to the syringe notification bubble your partner shows. Because in that case, it's caused by low Strength, and you just have to train your digimon for it to be corrected. There's some food items like DigiAnchovy that also restore Strength. Hope this helps!
